Director of Brickley Appraisers, Shawna Brickley-Rodgers, has more than 25 years of experience in the world of fine art commerce and appraisal. Over the years she has expanded her expertise in art scholarship and valuation, focusing on Old Master through Modern prints and drawings. She regularly consults for dealers of fine prints, objets d’art, and rare books.
Shawna has had the privilege to handle artwork from the estates of notables such as Hollywood icons Lauren Bacall & Jason Robards, and the celebrated American novelist Truman Capote; she has overseen the sale of graphic works by Picasso from the private collection of Paloma Picasso, and works from the estates of artists including Ben Shahn, Meyer Shapiro, Joan Míro, Salvador Dalí, and Federico Castellon. She has also had the privilege to handle truly remarkable objects, including the iconic dress worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz, and hand drawn cells from the golden age of Walt Disney Animation Studios. Brickley & Co. brings you the highest level of expertise right here at home on eastern Long Island.
Shawna is a graduate of Wheaton College, Massachusetts (BA), and Harvard University (MA). Prior to forming Brickley & Co, she held long term positions at New York’s Swann Galleries, (Specialist, Works on Paper), Artnet Worldwide (Specialist, Modern & Impressionist Art, NY), and Bonhams Auctioneers (Department Head, Prints & Multiples, NY).
